Geography of Ardahan

Ardahan is a city located on the northeast of Turkey. Ardahan opens to Georgia with Türküözü and Aktaş boundaries. The highest spot of the city which has 1800 altitude is Kısır Mountain with its 3194 mt height. It has a continental climate because of this high altitude. Annual average temperature of Ardahan is 5°. The mountains in Ardahan are Akbaba, Allahuekber, Aşiyan, Ilgar, Kısır, Uğurludağ and Yalnızçam Mountains. There are Çıldır and Aktaş rivers in the city. The most important accessories of Ardahan are Kura River, Posof Brook and Çıldır Karaçay. Ardahan Lowland and Göle Lowland take place among its tablelands. Ardahan Basins are Ardahan Basin, Göle Basin, Posof Basin and Çıldır Basin.
