The Geographical Marking of Traditional Kars Kashar Project uygulan by Kafkas University was implemented in 2013-2014 in the province of Kars under the Financial Support Program for Institutional Capacity and Human Capital Development. The project, which has been prepared in order to protect both the producers and consumers of Kashar Cheese, which has been built in TRA2 Region for many years, especially in Kars Province and its surroundings, has come to an end at a point of receiving a geographical point of origin after a long laboratory and examination process.

Within the scope of the project, the whole process from the production conditions to the storage conditions of the Kars Kashkary has been standardized with the consensus of the producers. Two meetings were held in Kars Province on the issue and information was given to the press. Furthermore, a technical tour was organized to the Gemlik Commodity Exchange, which currently conducts the Gemlik Olives Geographical Sign application.
